Real Impact Stories*

Because of people like you, children without family don’t face the future alone. When Abraham lost his mother just two months after birth and his father had no one to help care for him, he found safety at Bethel Nursery Home in Zambia. For nearly three years, donors like you provided him with preschool education, regular health monitoring, therapy to support his emotional well-being, and a dedicated social work team focused on one goal — getting him home.

In April 2025, that goal became reality. Thanks to the Thrive program funded by generous supporters, Abraham and his father were equipped with the tools they needed to reunite as a family. Abraham is home! Healthier, more resilient, and surrounded by love. You can make stories like this possible.

At 15, Alejandro had already lost both parents and, after some disagreements with his sister, found himself without a home. When he was rescued and brought to one of our partner homes, supporters like you made it possible for his case manager to step in, visit his sister, resolve the conflict between them, and pave the way for Alejandro to return to family.

Today, Alejandro is home, thriving, and training as a motorbike mechanic, a future he chose for himself. His trainer says he’s doing “marvelous work,” and his sister has watched him transform into someone who takes initiative, helps around the house, and carries himself with a new confidence. That transformation is possible because people chose to invest in a child who just needed a second chance.

Rosita is a 12-year-old girl who lived at Casa Hogar for a few years before she was reunited with her family. Unfortunately, her biological mother was diagnosed with  cancer and passed away a few months after that.

Though she was able to say goodbye to her mother before she passed away, Rosita was heartbroken. Can you imagine just getting your family back, only to have them taken away again?

Children shouldn’t have to deal with traumatic experiences alone, and thanks to donations, Rosita had the chance to process her grief with a psychologist and handle the pain while she heals. Her psychologist, caregivers, and friends at the home are helping her adjust during this difficult time.

Children need consistent care

Healing from trauma, learning to trust, and building skills for adulthood take time and resources. Donations are what provides the kind of steady, reliable support that makes real transformation possible.
