At Casa Hogar de la Esperanza, the preparation of food for 38 children at breakfast, lunch and dinner has involved the constant use of large pots and pans, as well as utensils that over time have become worn and some have lost their non-stick properties. These utensils can release toxic plastics or heavy metals that are harmful to health and end up contaminating the food, which may prove to be a risk for the population served in this home as well as for all those who consume food in this home.
