This public trip will be hosted at the Nuestra Familia Orphanage in Tijuana, Mexico.
Your trip payment pays for lodging, all meals (dinner on the first night through dinner on the last night), project costs, and a t-shirt. A third of the donation goes directly toward purchasing the construction materials we will be using on our projects to better the orphanage. We recommend bringing extra spending money for meals during travel, snacks during the week, and souvenirs. The base fee of the trip does not include the cost of transportation. A group van may be an option on this trip if enough volunteers request one. Traveling in the group van costs an additional $125 per person.
Service trips hosted by A Child’s Hope Foundation are meant to provide the opportunity to serve, create meaningful connections, and support the orphanages and children that we work with. We reach out to each Orphanage Director before and after our trips to assess their current needs; this is how we determine our service projects for each trip. With that being said, a lot of the manual work performed on our trips is focused on the maintenance and upkeep of these already functioning homes, not building from the ground up. The service you provide on these trips is about the memories and connections made with the kids.
