Caro (name changed for privacy), was born and raised in a very challenging environment. She developed cerebral palsy due to the poor postnatal care she received. Her parents were living in poverty and, several years later, struggling with caring for their daughter and feeding the rest of their children. Feeling overwhelmed and exhausted, her parents left her on the outskirts of the village. 

Fortunately, a neighbor found her and alerted Kenya’s Child Care Investigations. Caro was hospitalized and treated for malnutrition. She was taken to Miale ya Tumaini Children’s Care Centre, a children’s home connected to our Deployment Partner, Child in Family Focus – Kenya. The home navigated the challenging situation, helping her heal and reaching out to her mother.
