A New Leader for the Next Chapter of Growth at A Child's Hope

A Child’s Hope is thrilled to announce the appointment of Dr. Kim McCall as our new Chief Executive Officer. Dr. McCall brings more than 30 years of experience leading international nonprofit organizations through growth and transformation, and she will begin her service on July 27, 2026, with a focus on expanding partnerships, strengthening programs, and growing resources to serve more children around the world.

As the our first CEO, Dr. McCall will lead the organization through its next phase of growth, strengthening global partnerships while building on the child-centered mission that has defined A Child’s Hope since its founding.

"There is no one better suited to lead A Child's Hope into this next season of impact than Kim."

“This is one of the most exciting moments in A Child’s Hope Foundation’s history,” said Marshall Dahneke, Board Chair. “Kim is a proven builder of teams, partnerships, and sustainable funding. She shares our conviction that every child deserves to grow up in a safe, loving family. We are building on the tremendous foundation established by our founding board members, Paul Cook, Perry Bratt and Paul MacArthur and the leadership of Executive Director, Kent White, by expanding both what we offer and where we serve. There is no one better suited to lead A Child’s Hope into this next season of impact than Kim. On behalf of the Board, I could not be more grateful for the efforts of all those that have contributed to where we are today  and we feel extremely optimistic about where we are going and the impact we will have.”

Dr. McCall most recently served as Executive Director of Children in Conflict, where she led U.S. fundraising and strategic partnerships in support of programs in 14 countries across the War Child Alliance. During her tenure, revenue grew nearly fourfold. Across her career, she has helped raise more than $300 million for nonprofit organizations and previously held executive leadership roles at Playworks, Kesem National, and Yamba Malawi. She serves as adjunct faculty at Columbia University and New York University and holds a PhD in Global Leadership and Change from Pepperdine University.

"I'm honored to join this remarkable team and excited to build new partnerships that will help even more children thrive."

“Every child deserves the opportunity to grow up in a safe, loving family,” said Dr. McCall. “What drew me to A Child’s Hope Foundation was not only its unwavering commitment to children, but its belief that lasting change comes from strengthening caregivers, communities, and local leaders. I’m honored to join this remarkable team and excited to build new partnerships that will help even more children thrive.”

"Kent White and his team spent years building this Foundation into what it is today, and none of what comes next would be possible without their commitment"

“Before we look ahead, we want to acknowledge how we got here,” said James Hodges, Chair-Elect of the Board. “Kent White and his team spent years building this Foundation into what it is today, and none of what comes next would be possible without their commitment, diligence, and legacy. We are deeply grateful to him and the team. That strong foundation is what allows us to welcome Kim with such confidence — her collaborative, strategic leadership is exactly what this chapter calls for, and we’re excited for the momentum she’ll bring to our mission.”

“I am thrilled that Kim is joining the team and could not be more excited for how she will impact orphaned and vulnerable children as we work to help them join families,” said Kent White, Executive Director of A Child’s Hope Foundation. “She has the heart and the skill set to lead A Childs Hope forward, and I’m proud to welcome her with my full confidence and support.”

With a focus on helping children leave institutional care and join families, A Child’s Hope Foundation partners with orphanages and children’s homes across eight countries, equipping caregivers with tools, training, and community through programs including the Thrive Tools, the Thrive Certification Program, and The Thrive Collective. One hundred percent of donations go directly to children and the homes that serve them, while foundational donors underwrite operating costs.
