New Trainings
In October, Jaime Zogmaister and Elyse Bradley went to Uganda to provide trainings on the Thrive Program with 92hands and Both Ends Believing Uganda (BEB Uganda). After a year of partnership, 92hands is implementing the program with five foster homes and getting great results. Their team sees the Thrive Program as a vital tool in helping create structure, build skills, network, and share resources.
BEB Uganda is about four months into the program and has implemented it with five children’s homes. They want to use the Improvement Roadmaps as a way to help the homes improve their services and meet government standards, as well as take the program nationally by helping directors reach a high level of care in all 176 of the homes in their network.
A Huge Success!
In addition to Uganda, our team also visited and trained the staff of Child in Family Focus Kenya (CFFK). CFFK is more than a year into the program and has implemented it with six homes. The CFFK team sees the Thrive Program as a tool to prepare homes for transition to family and community care centers. They want to use the Improvement Roadmaps to create more awareness around what level of care and services are being provided to children in children’s homes.
Overall, the training in Africa was an overwhelming success. Thrive Team members from all three partnerships expressed their gratitude for learning how to better utilize Improvement Roadmaps and share that knowledge with their homes. At A Child’s Hope
