Donations that Make a Difference
The support of monthly donors in 2024 has meant the world to children in need all over the world. Thanks to these donations, the Child Advancement Priorities Program (CAP) can fund therapy, educational support, caregiver support, and family reunification. Donors are helping change the future for these kids.
Here are some of the major highlights from donors participating in the Aunt and Uncle Program this year:
Hope Made Reality
While visiting an orphanage in Kenya, a group noticed children singing a song to a little baby. The orphanage director explained that this baby, a girl named Imani (name changed for privacy) was leaving the orphanage that day because she was reunited with her aunt. Imani’s mother had left unexpectedly and her father, unable to care for her, gave her away without proper records. Later, when her father told his family what happened, his sister—the baby’s aunt—felt that she needed to find and raise this baby.
Her search wasn’t easy due to missing documentation. She searched for months, while Imani ended up at the orphanage. The staff there tried to locate her family while also arranging a foster family as a backup plan. A social worker, whose work was funded by donors from A Child’s Hope Foundation, finally located Imani’s aunt. After tests confirmed their relationship, she eagerly stepped up to provide her niece with a good home, even spending extra on a special allergen-free formula for Imani.
The group visiting the orphanage was there the day Imani’s aunt arrived to take her home. As the two were united for the first time, the children, the visiting group, and the orphanage staff celebrated the powerful moment. Imani’s story was no longer defined by loss, but by the promise of a bright future with her family, made possible by a loving aunt, a dedicated social worker, and compassionate donors.
Elevating Care
Impact can extend far beyond any monetary contribution. Orphans and vulnerable children have access to emotional and physical healing, educational help, consistent and loving caregivers, and a chance to be placed into families because of this support. These things will impact them now and the trajectory of the rest of their lives.
