Let's elevate how the world cares for orphaned & vulnerable children
- Are you an administrator of a children’s care facility (CCF)?
- Are you looking for ways to help identify and improve the care for children in your home?
- Do you need access to more training and resources for you or your caregivers?
- Do you want to collaborate with others working in orphan & vulnerable child (OVC) care that face challenges just like you?
At A Child’s Hope, we know how hard your job is, and that’s why we created the Thrive Collective. We want to share tools and help build communities that make a difference for you and the lives of the children you serve.
The Thrive Collective
The Thrive Collective at A Child’s Hope is a free global network that brings together diverse stakeholders working to improve the lives of children in vulnerable situations.
This community includes a network of orphanage directors, caregivers, NGO administrators, social workers, therapists, government officials, and many others who are passionate about serving orphaned and vulnerable children. There is no fee to participate in the Thrive Collective, and virtual training events are held regularly. If you’d like to attend an upcoming event or join our community, click the link below!
The Thrive Assessment & Improvement Roadmap
In 1959, the United Nations (UN) adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child. A Child’s Hope Foundation later codified these rights and grouped them into various standards. Each standard includes a number of questions, which comprise the Thrive Assessment. This assessment is intended for residential facilities to ensure that vulnerable children receive care that addresses their needs. It is recommended that the assessment be completed every 6 months to chart improvements. Upon completion of the assessment, an Improvement Roadmap is automatically generated based on answers provided in the assessment. This roadmap clearly outlines next steps and strategic initiatives in a visual format that can be shared with staff, board members, government officers, donors and other stakeholders.
Together, the Thrive Assessment and Improvement Roadmap make up what we call the Thrive Tools. If you’d like to learn more, check out our Thrive Tools Training, which will help orient you on how to utilize these tools effectively.
