Trainings

that elevate caregivers’ skills

We are professionalizing orphan care by training care providers who have a massive influence on the kids they work with. When care providers have skills, confidence and connections, they are better equipped to do their jobs, which ultimately benefits the kids.

Tools to revolutionize global care for children

Our programs are designed to provide training on several different subjects related to orphaned and vulnerable children care. These trainings can be developed by ourselves or by our many partners, all with the purpose of giving caregivers the skills they need to thrive in their jobs.

Thrive Assessment

A home director needs to know how a home is doing on things like healthcare, nutrition, and education for the children living there. That’s the goal of the Thrive Assessment. With a thorough questionnaire, we get an in-depth understanding of the home’s situation, identifying opportunities for improvement.

Improvement Roadmap

Based on the answers provided during the Thrive Assessment, we provide an Improvement Roadmap. This document is a key component in a home’s journey towards excellence, giving the director a clear picture of which areas need improvement.

Other Tools

Training Events

With the goal of professionalizing the orphan care space and upskill care providers, we promote events like workshops, conferences, and courses, bringing together people with different skill sets to share their experiences.

Training Platform

We have many courses available online to every member of the Thrive Collective, giving easy access to best practices and resources. These courses are developed by A Child’s Hope Foundation or by our partners, covering many subjects related to children’s rights.

Core Competency Assessments

Caregivers have to deal with many issues that arise when working with children. To stay sharp,  they need to recognize opportunities for improvement and this assessment is designed to do just that, by automating the development of a personal roadmap.

Home Transformation Support

Home transformation refers to systematically restructuring orphan care environments to replicate family life—focused on small, stable, multi-age homes with live‑in caregivers, community support, lifelong accompaniment, and proactive family placement strategies. We have a program to support this transition.
