What is an Improvement Roadmap?
An Improvement Roadmap is a plan created alongside an orphanage director and includes the goals and next steps for their home over the next six months.
These roadmaps help homes to:
- Prioritize needed improvements
- Share needs with community or government partners
- Gain support from donors on specific needs
- Receive consistent coaching and support
- Report and track measurable improvements
- Receive recognition as a quality home for children
The most recent Improvement Roadmaps within each country or region are included below.
Your support gives hope
100% of your donations go directly to bring hope and healing to kids in need.
Mexico
We are working with the Baja Thrive Team, Baja Love, and Back2Back Ministries to work with homes in Baja California and Monterrey, Mexico. Service trips, caregiver training, and the Books, Libraries, Reading (BLR) program are special efforts in Mexico.
Nigeria
Association of Orphanages and Homes Operators in Nigeria (ASOHON) is our partner on the ground in Nigeria. They work closely with the government and homes in their network to improve care and promote children’s rights.
Ghana
Ghana Make A Difference (GMAD) is our partner orphanage in Ghana. A Child’s Hope and GMAD are implementing the Thrive Program at GMAD and two other homes.
Uganda
92hands is our partner organization in Uganda. They work with women, training them to be caregivers and providing foster home-type living spaces for children in their care.
Kenya
In Kenya, we are working with Child in Family Focus – Kenya (CFFK), an NGO. Their focus is to change policy around child welfare and family reintegration while supporting current homes.
Zambia
Every Orphan’s Hope is doing amazing work in Zambia. They work to reunify children with their birth families or help them find permanent homes with mothers. We work with them to implement the Thrive Program in several of their family homes.
How We Select Orphanage Partners
We are always looking for orphanage directors who, with support, have the potential to create a high standard of care for their kids. Many deinstitutionalized orphanages have demonstrated the desire and the ability to see the children successfully through adulthood, but need skills, community, and resources.
We partner with orphanage directors eager to become better leaders, and we help provide the support and resources they need to fulfill their vision for the kids. Throughout this process, we encourage the orphanage directors to maintain their existing goals and traditions. We are here to help them elevate their already existing care for the children.
